1 dead, 2 injured following collision in Genesee County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person is dead and two people are injured following a collision on State Route 98 Sunday afternoon, according to New York State Police.

Officials said a 2016 Buick Encore was traveling northeast in the town of Alexander when the driver lost control and went into the southwest lane. A 2021 Jeep Cherokee that was traveling southwest was struck.

Anya Rambuski, 54 and of Batavia, who was operating the Buick, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office will perform an autopsy at a later date.
