Dee Snider releases politically charged 'We're Not Gonna Take It' acoustic video
Dee Snider isn't going to take it. The Twisted Sister member, who previously asked Donald Trump to cease using their hit "We're Not Gonna Take It," debuted a new acoustic version of the song earlier this summer, and now EW is excited to premiere its politically charged music video.
Snider's rerelease of the rock classic calls for fair compensation for members of the music industry (and has been tapped as the official anthem for The Recording Academy’s advocacy efforts, including the “Fair Play Fair Pay” Act) and comes ahead of his upcoming solo album We Are The Ones. "The album’s message is very much on point with the things I’ve always been singing about," Snider says in a statement. "I’m hoping by moving forward as a solo artist with stuff like this, that the songwriting and performances will stand up to the best of what’s going on today. I want to earn my place in the current music scene."
The news of Snider's solo career comes as Twisted Sister wraps their final tour together this fall. Dee Snider's album We Are The Ones is expected out October 2016.
