Zo? Kravitz Skipped the 2023 Oscars—Here’s What We Know So Far
Zo? Kravitz was not among the stars who walked the Oscars carpet tonight.
The Batman star did not attend the ceremony, where she was expected to follow up her soft glam look at last year's event. Though she skipped the lavish affair, her father, Lenny Kravitz, had a big night, as the rock legend performed as part of the in-memoriam segment.
Though we don't yet know why Kravitz skipped the ceremony, it's likely her absence is due to the fact that she has no nominations and wasn't slated to present an award like she did at the 2022 ceremony.
The High Fidelity actress made the rounds at several pre-Oscars parties this past weekend, attending the CAA's star-studded bash, as well as Saint Laurent's party, where she posed for pics with her dad, Salma Hayek, and Jennifer Coolidge.
To present at the 2022 ceremony, the style star wore a soft glam look, courtesy of a light pink gown with a bow on the front from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. She accessorized the ensemble with a delicate diamond necklace and earrings by Kwiat and wore her hair up and silver eye shadow.
Following the event, Kravitz shared her thoughts on the infamous incident where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in response to a joke the comedian made about Smith's wife. On the Tuesday after the show, she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, "Here's a picture of my dress at the award show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now."
The actress later expressed regret over how she handled her comments in an August 2022 interview with the WSJ. Magazine.
"I'm torn about what to say right now, because I'm supposed to just talk about it; I have very complicated feelings around it," she told the outlet. "I wish I had handled that differently. And that's okay."
