YES: J.K. Rowling Is Releasing Three New "Harry Potter" Books
If you haven't finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child yet, get on it. Because once you finish, there will be three more installments of the wizarding world to devour next. Yes, that's right, there will be three more Potter stories, and that's on top of the new Fantastic Beasts movie this November. Where's your Time-Turner when you need it?
These three e-books come from Pottermore, the website that offers even more tales from Hogwarts and beyond. The website announced that the series, called Pottermore Presents, will consists of "bite-sized eBooks that dig deep into the Harry Potter stories." They'll include parts of the Pottermore archives, plus original writing from J.K. Rowling. "The series offers Harry Potter fans added insights into the stories, settings and characters and were all lovingly curated by Pottermore," the announcement reads.
The first book, Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide, will reveal new information about ghosts at the wizarding school, and what happens when the Sorting Hat can't make a decision about where to place students. The second, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists is a little darker, talking about the Ministry of Magic and Azkaban, and will feature new writing about Horace Slughorn. And the third book, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, will focus on the Hogwarts staff, including a new original piece about Minerva McGonagall. It doesn't seem like you need to read them in any particular order to get the full effect.
The books, which are digital only, come out on September 6 in several languages. You can buy them on Pottermore or through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Apple's iBooks.
