PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital rolled out the food trucks and the dunk tank for their first United Way Day!
Father, husband makes his way back home after spending nearly a year in the hospital
PCH hosted its first United Way Day in order to kick start fundraising for the organization.
The hospital invited employees and visitors alike to come partake in delicious food and some good, clean fun.
Karen Bowling, Chief Executive Officer of PCH, said the event was making waves throughout the hospital.
“Our employees are just such great sports! They’ve been very excited about all the different kinds of fundraisers that we’ve done, I think they’re most excited for this one. We have a dunk booth. So, all of our department leaders have… I’m first! But all of them have volunteered to be in the dunk booth and so for a mere five dollars you get three balls to try and dunk your manager,” explained Bowling.
And dunked they were.
Bowling herself was dunked countless times by employees and several times by her own granddaughter!
All proceeds from the dunk booth and a portion of the food trucks sales were donated to the United Way.
