Meghan and Kate Got Into a “Row” Over Princess Charlotte Wearing Tights at the Royal Wedding
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton reportedly had a disagreement about bridesmaid tights protocol ahead of Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry.
In case you blocked it out (understandable), 2018 was dominated by consistent tabloid and newspaper reports that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton were not getting along. And the most notable came from The Telegraph, which spoke to two separate sources who claimed Kate “left in tears following a bridesmaids dress fitting for Princess Charlotte.”
Flash forward two years and there’s a new report on exactly what happened on that, uh, fated day. According to sources who spoke to Tatler (via the Daily Mail), Kate was upset because she wanted Charlotte and the other bridesmaids to follow “protocol” and wear tights.
“There was an incident at the wedding rehearsal,” a source said. “It was a hot day and apparently there was a row over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not. Kate, following protocol, felt that they should. Meghan didn’t want them to.”
Considering it was Meghan’s wedding, gonna have to say her request for the bridesmaids not to wear tights seems pretty reasonable! And it looks like her wishes were respected because photos from the wedding appear to show the bridesmaids tights-less.
This news follows a report that Kate is unhappy with her larger workload amid Meghan and Harry’s royal exit, with a source saying she feels “exhausted and trapped.”
Per the source, “Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately, but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”
