Who Won 'The Traitors' Season 2?
Time for everyone to don their funeral blacks and begin a period of mourning because The Traitors Season 2 has officially come to an end. After 11 wondrous episodes (not to mention the explosive reunion), Alan Cumming is boarding up his Scottish castle of mayhem and murder for the year.
Back at the start of January, 21 new celebrities entered the game and over the last nine weeks that number has slowly dwindled until the Fire of Truth crowned the Season 2 winners tonight. This season brought us "Not Ekin-Su," the MJ backing up meme and of course Parvati's headband collection. It also brought us Dan vs. Phaedra, Parvati vs. Phaedra and Peter vs. Phaedra fights. We got to watch Janelle accuse Sandra of drinking water like a Traitor, Larsa say, "You think 'Cheers is weird? I think you're weird," and or course Kevin chew with his mouth wide open. Season 2 of The Traitors has been a meme machine, a rating juggernaut and the best new reality TV show in a decade.

Unfortunately, tonight brought us our last episode until Season 3 likely arrives in early 2025. But before we close up shop for the season, here's everything that went down on the Season 2 finale:
Who was murdered on The Traitors Season 2 finale?
Sheree Whitfield
After surviving (sometimes blindly) 10 episodes' worth of banishments and murders, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was finally clipped in the show's final murder. While Phaedra Parks had kept her safe for most of the season's run, Phaedra's banishment in Episode 10 left her as an available target for Kate Chastain to murder on her final trip to the turret. Ultimately, Kate felt that murdering Sheree would throw suspicion onto Sandra Diaz-Twine, a move that did payoff, especially since Sheree had previously clocked Kate as a Traitor.
Who was banished on The Traitors Season 2 finale?
Sandra Diaz-Twine
The two-time Survivor winner joined Season 1's Kate Chastain in the final banishment club. While Sandra had flown under the radar for much of the season, Phaedra and Kate elected to make her the target last week. While Sandra seemed like she'd sewn up an alliance with Chris "CT" Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella, Kate was able to sew enough mistrust between CT and Sandra to get the group to eliminate her. Sandra's failure (similar to that of Kate and MJ) was to break up the CT and Trishelle pairing that when they had the chance.
The vote count ended up being:
Sandra (4) - Trishelle, CT, MJ, Kate
Kate (1) - Sandra
Who was eliminated at the Fire of Truth on The Traitors Season 2?
When The Traitors dwindles to the final four players, the contestants move outside to the Fire of Truth portion of the game. This is where the winner/winners is/are decided. The season can end with 2-4 players still in the game. If the players are all Faithfuls, then they split the prize pot. If, however, there is/are Traitors in the mix, they take the prize pot instead.
Each round the players each secretly vote to either a) end the game or b) banish again. If at least one player votes to banish again then the remaining players vote to banish an additional player and the person with the most votes reveals whether they are a Traitor or a Faithful and leaves the castle.
If one player is banished, the remaining three players vote a second time to either end the game or banish again and repeat the same steps. Once there are two players remaining, the game concludes.

As Mercedes "MJ" Javid astutely pointed out, after Sandra's banishment a Traitor still remained in the fold given that Sheree was murdered. Due to that fact, it seemed quite obvious that all four players would vote to "banish again" in an attempt to root out Sheree's murderer. When Kate, however, voted to end the game, it was a dead giveaway that she was in fact the Traitor in the midst. Trishelle, CT and MJ unanimously voted to send Kate packing (an outcome Kate, like Ari in Season 1, seemed like she wanted).

With Kate gone, it seemed quite obvious to MJ that everyone remaining was a Faithful, but she'd failed to account for the fact she was on the outs of an alliance between two The Challenge alumni. While MJ voted to end the game, both CT and Trishelle voted to banish again. CT, working off an earlier agreement with Trishelle, voted to eliminate MJ (therefore increasing his prize pot and decreasing the risk of giving it up to a Traitor), while Trishelle used the chance to vote for CT and suss out his loyalty one final time. On the revote, however, CT and Trishelle banded together to send a very upset and betrayed MJ home.
Who won The Traitors Season 2?
Chris "CT" Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella
After a long, hard-fought season the pair of The Challenge contestants were able to band together to split the $208,100 prize pot. After the third Challenge alumni, Johnny Bananas was the season's first casualty, Trishelle and CT formed a tight bond that they (mostly) honored throughout the game. While Trishelle teamed up with Peter Weber's Faithful alliance and CT hung out more with the gamers, they shared information with one another throughout and mostly voted the same way. The pair were also instrumental in earning much of the final prize pot as they carried the cast in many of the missions in the back half of the season. A fitting end to their storyline (even if I did feel bad for poor MJ getting hung out to dry at the last minute).
