Woman celebrates turning 360 months with hilarious photo shoot
Rhiannon Escalante turned 30 on Tuesday, and instead of accepting the fact that she’s growing a little bit older and a little bit wiser, she wanted to do something fun, too.
She and her sister-in-law, Andrea Escalante, an amateur photographer, celebrated the big birthday by planning a baby-inspired photoshoot, fit for anyone’s Pinterest board.
“I wanted to do something fun. People told me your life is over when you turn 30, and it’s all downhill,” Rhiannon told Chron.com. “But I feel like it’s going to be the best decade for me so far.”
Rhiannon and Andrea secured a pink tutu, chalkboards featuring the year of Rhiannon’s birth year (and announcing that she’s 360 months and 10,950 days, 69 inches tall and weighing “Thick-Fil-A”), and the “best sister-in-law” even baked a cake. The only creative liberty Rhiannon and Andrea took was the inclusion of a bottle of champagne, which is typically frowned upon when given to babies.
The rest was social media magic.
According to Rhiannon, it took the two women around 20 minutes to set up the backdrop for the shoot, and then they spent an hour of fun snapping away roughly 1,000 photos.
“It was a great way to celebrate a new era in my life,” Rhiannon said.
Her family and friends have nothing but praise to heap on the photos she shared on Facebook. “One friend told me that she wants to do the same thing when she turns 30,” Rhiannon added.
Rhiannon, who works in marketing for a sporting goods chain, and Andrea planned to head to Los Angeles on Wednesday to wrap up the birthday celebration. Andrea has spent over a year requesting tickets to the Ellen show, and she finally received them. “Just in time for my birthday,” Rhiannon told the outlet.
Rhiannon Escalante did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment — as she is probably busy busting a move in Ellen’s audience.
