Wildlife Photographer Shares the Story Behind an Intimidating Photo of a Grizzly Bear
Grizzly bears instantly spark fear in most people, and for good reason. They are one of the biggest predators out there and are known to be highly aggressive. Wildlife photographers come face-to-face with many different animals, but getting up close and personal with a grizzly bear was enough to make photographer Isaac Spots freeze in place!
Isaac lives in Wyoming and takes amazing photos of the animals that call Yellowstone home. Last spring, just as the bears started coming out of hibernation, Isaac was out taking pictures and ran into a bear named Bruno who was well known around the area. He referred to him as, "The baby daddy for pretty much ever grizzly bear in Grand Teton". Listen in as he describes the encounter he had with him and watch to the end to see the incredible photo Isaac took!
Wow! That is a scary looking bear! Fans of @Isaac's left nearly 4 thousand comments, most saying what an incredible photographer he is (I totally agree) or about how intimidating Bruno is...one commenter described him as, "A tank with fur" with I thought was pretty accurate! I also agreed with @Susie who said, "Fabulous shot … beautiful … yet scary as heck!" That about sums it up!

Interesting Facts About Grizzly Bears
Grizzly bears are terrifying, and I couldn't imagine getting as close as Isaac got to one. The picture is stunning and intimidating at the same time. Their claws are just incredible; did you know that they can grow to anywhere between four to six inches long and can be the thickness of a cigar? While most bears need claws to climb trees, grizzly bears mostly use theirs to dig and to catch fish.
They are at the top of the food chain but most of the time they just eat bushes, berries, fruit, leaves, and roots. If they're hungry enough and come across an animal - whether it be a small rodent or a huge moose - they will kill it and enjoy it as a meal.
Grizzlies are solitary animals, and their home territory can be up to 600 miles wide. They try to avoid humans, but if they are surprised by one or a mom and her cubs run into humans, they will attack. If you see one coming at you, don't run because you can't outrun them...they can run up to 30 MPH!
Why are the called "grizzly" bears? Their fur is often tipped with white, giving it a grizzled look. And they have a grisly personality - they instantly spark fear when you see them!
While I loved seeing Isaac's picture, I'm happy to admire these bears from afar. They are unpredictable and aggressive, and I have a healthy fear and respect for them.
