Why Fans Are Calling for Bryce Dallas Howard to Helm a 'Star Wars' Movie
The star has already directed two episodes of 'The Mandalorian.'
Bryce Dallas Howard can do no wrong when it comes to Star Wars.
Season three episode six of The Mandalorian dropped April 4 on Disney+ and fans are singing their praises to the 42-year-old actress, who directed the episode. In fact, the new episode marks her fourth director credit for a Star Wars series.
She previously directed the season one episode "Sanctuary" and the season two episode “The Heiress.” She also helmed an episode of 2022’s The Book of Boba Fett, titled “Return of the Mandalorian.”
Fans seem to love every episode that she touches and are now calling on her to direct a film for the franchise.
"For the love of GOD Disney, give Bryce Dallas Howard her own STAR WARS TRILOGY," one fan demanded.
"Bryce Dallas Howard, once again, coming in with the heat. Give her a Star Wars movie," another fan wrote.
"Every time she does an episode it makes me more convinced that Bryce Dallas Howard understands Star Wars more than most people working on the series," a third user shared.
"Once again Bryce Dallas Howard has the best Episode of #TheMandalorian. Let her direct a #StarWars movie already," another fan ordered.
"The cameos in The Mandalorian this week we’re amazing. Bryce Dallas Howard always knocks it out of the park. Give her a Star Wars movie," another fan gushed.
"Bryce Dallas Howard continues to prove she should be directing a #StarWars movie. Her ability to take anything they give her and make it good is astounding. She also knows how to get the most out of the volume," a different fan weighed in.
Howard sat down with Jimmy Fallon last June where she revealed that Star Wars creator, George Lucas was her dad, Ron Howard's mentor. She noted that the franchise is something that she feels "very protective" of when it comes to her history with the films.
Howard's dad directed Solo: A Star Wars Story, which was released in 2018. The actress revealed that she shadowed her filmmaker father while he was working on the film, stating, "I met folks there and they brought me aboard to write something, and that's how I started to get to know the folks at LucasFilm."
While there doesn't seem to be any movies in the works as of now, we can't wait to see what Howard directs next when it comes to Star Wars!
