Whoopi Goldberg Rips Roseanne Barr for Fake Photo
Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett ended up getting her ABC sitcom canceled on Tuesday. And now, she’s getting called out for yet another tweet, this time by her comedy colleague Whoopi Goldberg.
On Wednesday’s episode of The View, Goldberg called out Barr for retweeting a photoshopped image of her attending the 2017 Women’s March. The photo, which was blurred out on television, shows her apparently wearing a photo of President Trump shooting himself in the head, with the caption “Make America Great Again.” But she never wore that shirt, and the image was doctored. Her shirt actually read, “And you thought I was a nasty woman before? Buckle up, buttercup.”
“In her Twitter rant following her cancellation, she also retweeted a false picture of me, so here we go again,” Goldberg said, before showing a video of the actual shirt she was wearing next to the altered version Barr retweeted. “Now some bonehead photoshopped a horrific image on the shirt and she retweeted this,” Goldberg said. (Barr ended up taking down the retweet.)
And she didn’t mince words in her statement to Barr. “So this is what I’m going to say, Roseanne: Just because you were caught with your pants down, don’t try to drag other people down with you,” she said. “It’s easy to do because it’s red meat. But the bottom line is simply this: I didn’t fake my shirt, someone else faked my shirt. But that’s your tweet. That tweet came from you. So that’s yours. You did this to yourself.”
