Whitley County Fair pageant crowns Miss and Mrs/Ms Whitley County Fair 2024
Jul. 9—WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Convention Center played host to the annual Miss Whitley County Fair pageant on Friday, with an exciting new addition this year: the Mrs./Ms. Whitley County Fair category, created to honor women of older ages in Kentucky.
In the traditional Miss Whitley County Fair competition, a vibrant group of 14 young women vied for the crown. Competitors were judged on their interviews held prior to the pageant, congeniality, swimwear, and evening gowns.
Ella Gray, 18, stood out among the contestants and was crowned 2024 Miss Whitley County Fair. She also won Best Interview, Best Swimwear, and Best Evening Gown.
The new category saw four inspiring women compete — showcasing their poise, talent, and community spirit. Competitors were judged on interviews held prior to the pageant, evening gowns, cocktail wear, and congeniality.
Kathleen Robinson, 49, emerged victorious and earned the title of 2024 Mrs./Ms. Whitley County Fair along with winning Best Interview, Best Cocktail wear, and Best Evening Gown.
Both women will now be competing in the Miss/Mrs/Ms Kentucky County Fair pageant next January in Louisville.
The Whitley County Fair will be held next week from July 17 through July 20 at the Whitley County Fairgrounds.
Registrations for the Whitley County Fair Farm and Home Exhibits will be Wednesday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Whitley County Cooperative Extension Office at Goldbug.
The fair plans to bring lots of entertainment and fun for the whole family, with inflatables and water slides, a "dinosaur encounter", a petting zoo, and more throughout the week.
Popular events include a demolition derby on Thursday and horse show on Friday. On Saturday, there will be a mule pull, a talent show, a mullet contest, a mud bog, and hot air balloon rides.
Live music will include performances from 3 Years Apart on Wednesday, Bethany Farmer on Thursday, Trey Bryant on Friday, and Nathan Coots & the Coyotes on Saturday.
