White Castle Added The Impossible Burger To Menus
Ordering fast food when you don't eat meat can be tough. Ask for a cheeseburger hold the burger, and while you might expect a grilled cheese with fixings, you're likely to just get a slice of American on some bread. Not great. With the addition of the mega-popular Impossible Burger to White Castle menus, vegetarians now have a much better drive-thru option.
Starting today, White Castle is testing the "burger that bleeds" at 140 restaurants in New York, New Jersey, and the Chicago area. In a press release earlier this month, Impossible Foods teased the launch by saying they'd soon announce availability in "additional mainstream American restaurants." Enter White Castle.
It’s not easy raising all these fries. But it’s worth it.

The chain, known best for its mini burgers, is considering adding the veggie burger to stores nationwide if the test goes well. For now, the Impossible Burger comes on their signature square bun with pickles, onions, and smoked cheddar (so it's not vegan, though the burger itself is).
While the Impossible Burger has been added to other restaurant menus, including TGI Fridays and Bareburger, this is its first time at a fast-food chain. The price point at White Castle is tough to beat, especially if you just want to give it a try. One slider retails for $1.99, and a combo (with two sliders, fries, and a drink) goes for $6.99. At Bareburger, though you're getting a bigger portion, an Impossible Burger costs $14.
Given the success of TGI Fridays' test, we wouldn't be surprised to see these sliders expand across the country soon.
