The upcoming school year is going to be unique to say the least. For those with children going back to a traditional classroom, many will be required to wear a fabric face mask inside. What the CDC says on kids wearing face masks
The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends children over the age of two wear a mask in public settings where it’s difficult to practice social distancing. It also advises that as some children go back to school, it’s important to limit exposure to additional children and adults outside of school to decrease risk. The more people you and your children interact with, and the longer the interaction, the higher the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Of course, getting a child to wear a mask is easier said than done. Parents can start by leading by example and wearing a mask themselves. Make sure you are wearing it properly with your nose and mouth covered. However, finding a mask with a fun print or a favorite character of your child’s can also help to make wearing a mask less intimidating.
Additionally, here’s a hack to make wearing a mask easier for kids
You can attach a lanyard to your child’s face mask to prevent them from losing it. That way, when they take it off for lunch or for any other reason, it won’t fall on the floor or get mixed up with any of their friends’ masks, as it will be hanging from their neck.
