What's going on with 'The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip' season 4?
We know you're loving Jenna Lyons, Brynn Whitfield and co., but what about The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 4? Will New York housewives be vacationing on our screens any time soon?
Right now, we're all consumed by the brand-new RHONY season 14 cast. We'll admit, this dynamic group *kind of* made us lose track of our NYC veterans and their plans. But given the switches that Bravo keeps making, it's definitely challenging to keep schedules in place.
Despite the chaos, there's no need to fret, Bravoholics. We'll give you an update on the fan-favorite Housewives spinoff and what's happening next. (This is your cue to grab a glass of Pinot Grigio!)
'The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip' season 4—what you need to know
The fourth season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip will be an all-RHONY affair, but instead of the new cast members from season 14, the travelers will be pulled from seasons' past.
The RHONY Legacy season is set to give us a dose of Vitamin D in December with its premiere. The show was shot in June 2023 but was actually slated for season 5. However, Bravo swapped around the release schedule so the RHONY edition will now be season 4 and will premiere ahead of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club, according to a report from Variety.
Remember when we asked earlier this year, "Is RHONY cancelled?" Well, it turns out, when the long-running New York franchise was being revamped, the network heavyweights decided that its original crew would be featured on the Ultimate Girls Trip offshoot rather than the main RHONY series.
Back in 2022, executive producer Andy Cohen told Variety that changes were being made to the Gothamites but some viewers didn't want to throw away the group they spent so long getting to know.
"There were people who really wanted: 'Let’s just totally start over.' And then there were people who were like, 'Wait a minute, but what about this group that we’ve invested 13 years in?’ I think that’s why this is really listening to everybody," Cohen told the outlet.
Who is in 'The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip' season 4 cast?
Ready for a blast from New York's past? We have a fashion icon, a Housewife who "made it nice", and the ever-controversial Ramona Singer, to name a few. Here's who's joining the series:
Kelly Killoren Bensimon
Luann de Lesseps
Dorinda Medley
Sonja Morgan
Ramona Singer
Kristen Taekman
Fans couldn't help but notice that NYC OG Jill Zarin was not making a grand return, and as it turns out, financial discrepancies caused her to take a step back.
“I just wanted everyone to get paid the same,” said Zarin on Jeff Lewis Live, per Variety. “We started together. In fact, I cast the show. I brought on Bethenny [Frankel], I brought on Luann [de Lesseps], I brought on Ramona [Singer]. So, for nothing else, I should definitely get paid the same as everybody else, or I’m not doing it.”
As for Bethenny Frankel, arguably one of the most successive New York Housewives, if not the most, has made a split from Bravo and addressed rumors in June 2023 about her joining the show.
"I think that horse has left the farm, but I love being a part of the conversation,” she said on her podcast.
Since then, she has gone on to heavily criticize the network and even called for a reality TV union in an interview with Variety. She further claimed she wouldn't appear on Legacy unless she cashed in on at least $1 million.
"Just because you can exploit young, doe-eyed talent desperate for the platform TV gives them, it doesn’t mean you should,” Frankel told the publication. “They don’t know what they don’t know. I was playing chess, but how do I help the people who may not know the game?”
Where will 'The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip' season 4 take place?
The ladies are venturing back to familiar territory: Saline Beach in Saint Barthélemy, where season 4 of RHONY was filmed. Will we get a Scary Island repeat?
