Wendy’s New Breakfast Menu Features a Southerner’s Dream
It seems like every day brings a new fast-food innovation to get excited about. After the pandemonium surrounding Popeyes’ new chicken sandwich and the heart-breaking pause in production that resulted, we never imagined that we’d be falling for another menu item so quickly.
But alas, here we are.
It happened again on Monday, when Wendy’s announced its plans to launch its breakfast menu across the U.S. in 2020. That familiar feeling in our stomachs. Was it love or was it hunger? Perhaps both.
It caught our eye as we skimmed the new offerings, from the Breakfast Baconator to the Frosty-ccino. There is was: the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit.
We admit that we haven’t had the honor of trying the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, but the description alone was enough to get our Southern hearts going. According to CNN, it’s composed of fried chicken slathered with whipped honey butter and sandwiched in a buttermilk biscuit.
Wendy’s, you had us at honey butter. And a buttermilk biscuit? Come on y’all!

The fast-food giant reportedly also plans to debut seasoned potatoes and croissant sandwiches. A full menu and prices will be released later this year.
We’ll be ready.
