Wells celebrates 60th Homecoming
Apr. 9—Wells celebrated its 60th annual community homecoming Saturday, March 30, with a theme of Remembering the 60s.
The day-long event began with a 9 a.m. reception at the Wells High School. The celebration included a community Easter egg hunt, the 20th class reunion for the Class of 2004, an afternoon parade, a fish fry, wrestling and shopping at vendors set up in the school parking lot.
An evening program was presented in which the Class of 2004 was honored and parade awards were presented. The Best Organization Float went to Wells LTC Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Entertainment was provided by the Class of 1974, which was also recognized during the event.
Tommy Durham, Class of 2004, was designated homecoming king.
Emma Cole was named homecoming queen and Kiley Beathard was runner-up.
The evening concluded with a homecoming dance until midnight in the school auditorium.
