The wedding timeline of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement in November 2017. While the world is eagerly awaiting the royal event — which is being called the wedding of the century — we have been imagining the many details to hold us over, like what dress Markle will wear. On Monday, Kensington Palace announced the wedding time and a few more details about the special day. Here is what we know so far.
The couple will marry at 12 p.m. on May 19. The ceremony will be held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. At 1 p.m., there will be a carriage procession that will go through the town of Windsor. This will be the only part of the day open to the public. It is, however, expected that the ceremony will be broadcast on a big screen in Windsor. The queen and Prince Charles are paying for the wedding and the evening party. Prince Charles is also hosting the evening reception, which Markle has asked her friend Millie Mackintosh to help plan.
While the guest list is going to be a very exclusive set, St. George’s has a capacity of 800 — though that’s definitely less than the 1,900 guests Prince William and Kate Middleton had at their 2011 ceremony.
While Markle has not disclosed the designer of her wedding dress, we have been told that it will be “a glamorous but traditional gown.”
