Wedding Guest Hairstyles for Every Season
Winter Wedding: Half Up-Do
This versatile hairdo is easy to master. Like, super easy. "Twist and pin together in the back for a more romantic, boho style or tease the crown and smooth the back for a more formal, polished look," Ohia says. Don't forget to play around with your part to find out what's most flattering for your face shape.
Wedding Guest Hairstyles for Every Season
It's a week before your college friend's wedding and you have absolutely no clue how you're going to style your hair. We get it; fuss-free hairstyles that look amazing are hard to come by. That's why Krystal Morant, manager at Bridal Beauty Associates in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Christa Ohia, owner of Blush Hawaii in Honolulu, are sharing their go-to wedding guest hairstyles for every season.
Winter Wedding: Big Voluminous Curls
"Big curls are always a safe bet if you don't like to wear your hair up," Ohia says. Plus, you can perfect your winged eyeliner while your hair sets. "Throw your hair into some medium and large rollers and let them set while you get ready and then tousle your fingers through them lightly," Ohia explains. Set the curls with hairspray and you're good to go!
Spring Wedding: Side of Sass
Kate Hudson. Vanessa Hudgens. Blake Lively. If these celebrities define #hairgoals for you, then consider this look. The hairdo is equal parts glam and Greek goddess, and looks drop dead gorgeous with one-shoulder dresses. "Be sure to keep in mind which side the one shoulder falls, and be sure to create this hairstyle on the opposite side of your dress," Morant says.
Spring Wedding: Twisted Low Bun
Automatically create a sleek Audrey Hepburn feel with a twisted low bun. "This soft elegant style would be lovely for a gorgeous spring wedding and is quite versatile, which would complement any style of dress," notes Morant. The low bun is comfortable enough so you won't be fidgeting with your bobby pins all night long.
Summer Wedding: Topknot
Topknots are a classic hairstyle for a reason. They're chic, formal, and gorgeous. "This hairstyle is perfect for summer weddings and would look fabulous paired with a high neckline or halter dress," Morant says. With your hair out of your face, you're free to do a bold berry lip or deep smoky eye without looking too overdone.
Summer Wedding: Braid
An outdoor summer wedding is another term for "humidity." With humidity, comes frizz—lots of it. "For those beach or outdoor weddings, a braid is ideal to keep your hair from flying everywhere in the elements, but still look put together," Ohia says. For a more formal look, add a bejeweled headband and let pieces of hair fall to frame your face.
Fall Wedding: Low Chignon
Low chignons are popular because they're so versatile. Depending on how fancy the wedding is, you can dress your chignon up or down. "Place your chignon slightly to one side for a more of a casual look or centered for a formal wedding, but keep it loose and tease the crown and sides for a little volume," Ohia says.
Fall Wedding: Messy Side Braid
A tousled side braid is ideal when the weather is beginning to change from warm to chilly. "This hairstyle would be amazing for a casual fall wedding and paired perfectly with a strapless maxi dress," Morant says. Add flowers in your braid if you're going for a bohemian look or a pin a gold brooch if you're going for a classic vintage look.
