Las Vegas seems like an unlikely place for the world's top pizza makers to convene. Italy would be more on brand, or maybe even New York or Chicago. But every year, for four entire days, pizzaiolos descend upon Sin City to prove their worth at the International Pizza Expo. There are awards handed out for everything - best tasting pie, quickest box folding, largest dough stretch. But the competition the 10,000 attendees most look forward to is the Acrobatic Dough Tossing challenge.

People are quick to call intense competitions the "Olympics of [fill in the blank]" - but this really is. Contestants are judged on how well they can twist, turn, jump, and perform stunts while slinging pizza dough through the air. Every five years or so, the contestant pool gets a refresh, and this year brought newbies from all over - as close as California and Oklahoma and as far away as Australia, France, and Korea.

Judges deduct points if you drop your dough or if your set feels repetitive. But there's dough up for grabs if you perform well: Winners get $1,000 and insane bragging rights within the pizza tossing community. So - are you ready to watch the drama unfold?
