Watch Kristen Wiig Hilariously Screw Up a ‘Hallelujah’ Duet with James Corden
As it turns out, Kristen Bell isn’t the only celeb to have a James Corden duet go real wrong, real fast.
On last night’s episode of The Late Late Show, Kristen Wiig teamed up with host Corden to perform what can only be described as, um, a super-special rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Although the duet started off strong, things took an awkward turn when Wiig repeatedly struggled to pronounce a key word in the song: hallelujah.
In the video, the duo jumps right into the first verse of the duet. But when they reach the chorus, Corden can’t help but notice that Wiig is mispronouncing the title of the song with a hard “J.” The late-night host isn’t having it and interrupts the performance—on numerous occasions—to correct Wiig’s diction.
But the real kicker is when a gospel choir, warmed up by Wiig, joins in on the final chorus and belts, “Hello, Julia!”
The song might have tanked, but the comedy is pure TV gold.
