The Wait Times at Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Table Restaurant Are Insane
A recent feature in The Washington Post revealed what it's like to eat at Chip and Joanna Gaines' restaurants.
The report included information on the length of the lines at each establishment.
It also detailed several of the employees' personal favorite orders.
Even if you haven't had a chance to visit one of Chip and Joanna Gaines' Waco, Texas restaurants in person, you've no doubt caught mouthwatering glimpses of them over on Instagram. The former Fixer Upper stars often share snapshots of their adorable bakery, the Silos Baking Co., and Joanna recently revealed her personal order at their restaurant, Magnolia Table.
Still, you've probably often wondered what it's really like to dine in one of their many eating establishments. Are the lines long? Is the staff friendly? And is it really as pretty as it seems on social media?

Today, thanks to a feature in The Washington Post, we're able to give you exactly that information...and then some.
Andrea Sachs, a travel reporter for the news outlet, took one for the team this past month when she wrote a detailed report of each and every local Gaines restaurant—including Magnolia Press, the couple's new coffee shop.
"Magnolia Press was set up for a long and winding queue, with rows of stanchions and chains leading to a white marble counter," she wrote, hinting at the possibility of long lines (though she herself didn't experience any). "...An employee recommended the cream-filled Magnolia Press chocolate cake, which she compared favorably to a Ding Dong, and the lemon-blueberry roll."

Next up: A stop at Silos Baking Co., of course! There, in what seemed to be another effort to control crowds, Andrea noted that "an employee stationed by the front door was handing out order cards and pencils." The same employee offered up her favorite cupcake flavors: strawberries and cream and lemon--lavender.

Finally, Andrea paid a visit to Magnolia Table, where she learned that those hoping to eat at any of these restaurants should arrive with plenty of time to spare. "Even though the kitchen was open for another hour, [the hostess] was no longer accepting names for the waitlist," she said. Yikes!
Luckily, Andrea was able to snag an available table in the end, but she still managed to discover just how tough it can be to get a seat at the incredibly popular restaurant. "For tomorrow, I asked her, what time should I arrive [for lunch]; she said before 8:30 a.m. Follow-up question: What if I didn’t want to eat lunch during the breakfast hour? She suggested 11 a.m. for a 1 p.m. spot."
We'll be keeping all of those tips in mind for our next visit. In the meantime, we'll have to satisfy ourselves by staring at the menus!
