Victoria Justice Is a “Total Homebody,” and Spills Her Secret to Making Laundry Fun
“Adulting” catches up to you subtly, like getting excited about a good linen napkin or choosing takeout on the couch over a crowded bar. For Victoria Justice, part of embracing her adulthood is reflected by her love of laundry day.
“When I was younger, I didn't ever want to deal with laundry—it just seemed like such a pain,” she tells The Spruce. “But as I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate doing household chores more. I think they can actually be meditative.”
The 31-year-old singer and actress has an ongoing partnership with Arm & Hammer as they share their latest laundry innovation, Power Sheets, which will have you replacing your pods in an instant (we’ll share more on the greatness of laundry sheets later).
We got a chance to catch up with Justice as she enters a new era of her life and career as an independent artist.
She shares how her cozy home plays a huge role in her happiness, how her idea of “home” has changed over the years, and how her partnership with Arm & Hammer has turned laundry into a chore she no longer despises (and how it can for you, too).
"As I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate doing household chores more. I think they can actually be meditative."
Home Is Where Justice Is Happiest
Justice lives by the words, “never take anything for granted,” and this applies to her modern yet cozy home. She described her home as a welcome respite to her busy schedule, and she’s a homebody at heart who just wants every corner of her home filled with joy and comfort.
“I think it's so important to make sure that your home is your sanctuary and a peaceful place for you,” she says. “Creating those spaces in your home, like a really cozy reading nook, is going to bring you joy and make you feel safe.”
Personalizing a space can come in the form of mood lighting or special scents, both of which apply to Justice’s home. She gushed about her favorite candle, NEST’s Grapefruit, and her funky purple lava lamp.
“My home now is modern, but I’ve made it funky as well,” she says. “I love lots of colors, so having pops of color everywhere brings me a lot of joy. I have a purple lava lamp that I love and makes me so happy.”
Scents are key to setting the mood in Justice’s space—a part of why her Arm & Hammer partnership was the perfect collaboration.
“Scent-wise, I love the smell of good clean laundry, and Arm & Hammers Power Sheets have just made doing laundry so much easier and so much more fun,” she shares.
Justice’s Secret Weapon to Laundry Day: Power Sheets
Bye-bye, laundry pods—a neater, eco-friendly alternative has arrived on the scene in the form of sheets.
Justice's partnership with Arm & Hammer focuses on their Power Sheets, which compact a load's worth of detergent into a convenient sheet, following a recent trend we've seen of laundry-doers swapping pods for sheets, instead.
"I love a clean laundry scent, the feeling of having clean clothes, smelling clean and amazing," Justice says. "I've definitely come to embrace the chore over the years, and these sheets make it that much easier."
Justice said the ease and convenience of the sheets make the chore much more fun and rewarding. They're compact, save you from the drippy mess, and avoid plastic waste.
"The environmentally conscious aspect of this product is so important to me because I try to live a life where I am thinking of the planet, doing little things to help make it better," Justice shares. "I feel like laundry sheets are going to be the thing of the future—everyone's going to be using laundry sheets."

Justice's Other Laundry Must-Have
Justice has said goodbye to sheets in her dryer, though, and loves wool dryer balls. She touts their ability to reduce static cling and are reusable, too.
On Her New Career Ventures and Her Massive, Comfy Couch
Justice is focused on her career as an independent artist, releasing new music for the first time since her days as Tori Vega on Victorious.
She just released a single-tear-jerker of a tune called “hate the world without you (maddy’s song)" dedicated to her sister and doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon—except to have her loved ones over for movie night on her 12-seater sofa.
"I love cooking at home, I love having my friends and my family over," she says. "I have a really big couch—when I bought it, I wanted to fit as many people as possible, and it can fit like, 12 people."
Home is where the heart is, and that rings true for Justice.
"I'm a total homebody—ultimately, there's nothing like being home," she says.
