Vans employee fired for reportedly cursing out teen customer wearing MAGA hat
Conservatives were outraged when a video surfaced of a confrontation between a Vans employee and the mother of a 14-year-old boy wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat that took place at a Kansas mall. The employee reportedly said “f*** you” to the boy before the video began, and Vans confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that the unnamed employee is no longer with the company.
The Daily Caller first reported that the employee was fired, sharing the video that was posted to Twitter by Ryan Fournier, chairman of the Students For Trump coalition. The video shows the mom confronting a Vans employee for allegedly cursing at her son when he walked into the store wearing a MAGA hat.
“He did nothing to you,” the mom is heard saying. “What did you say to my son, to my 14-year-old?”
“I’m sure he’s heard it before,” the employee replies.
The mom then goes over to a manager to tell them what happened.

“Kid is smarter than and had better manners the so-called adult working there,” one person commented on Twitter.
“My daughter is a Vans fan. Address this or she will never own another pair,” another wrote.
Others, however, didn’t think the employee deserved to be fired over the alleged comment.
“I’d buy all of my kids Vans … if the Vans store hadn’t fired the fine young man. MAGA hats are the new KKK gear!” one Twitter user commented.
A Vans spokesperson said in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle that the company’s “primary focus is to provide the best customer service experience.” The statement continued, “The actions and comments from one employee in our Oak Park location are in contrast with our company’s values and belief in personal expression.”
