Twitter is (rightfully) roasting Brett Kavanaugh over his unhinged opening statement
Today, September 27th, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing in order to investigate the claims made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by professor Christine Blasey Ford. The day began with a powerful opening statement from Ford in which she reiterated that she was “terrified” to be appearing before the committee but believed it was her civic duty to inform the public of her assault at the hands of Kavanaugh—a man who could potentially hold one of the most important positions in our government for life.
After the committee spent the morning questioning Ford, Kavanaugh took her place, sharing an opening statement of his own. Unlike the earnest, composed, and yes, at times, emotional statement from Ford, Kavanaugh appeared angry and defiant. Some even described the judge as “unhinged.”
And, of course, Twitter has thoughts.
Kavanaugh's unhinged, entitled rage is making it easy to imagine him grabbing a teenage girl, throwing her on a bed, and forcing himself on her while muffling her screams

"I definitely didn't rape anyone because, you see, my calendars don't have rape written on them for those days, you see"

is this how people get to talk if they don't spend their entire lives being scrutinized for tone

Brett Kavanaugh is shouting at this point and crying as Senator Feinstein is calmly questioning him.

Feinstein begins by asking Kavanaugh why he isn't calling for an FBI investigation of the 3 allegations if he's innocent. Kavanaugh replies by yelling over her and bashing the media. pic.twitter.com/Rvqkoy879P

Now Kavanaugh is screaming at and talking over Senator Feinstein. He’s exposing who he really is. Someone who’s unfit for the bench.

Only a straight white man could put on the kind of performance Kavanaugh is right now--the yelling and crying. A black woman would be labeled 'angry', a black man would've been labeled 'hostile'. #KavanaughHearings pic.twitter.com/cO8G34D88W

Is it me or does Brett Kavanaugh seem a bit HYSTERICAL? Surely we can’t have this sort of emotional instability on the highest court in the land ????????????

You know my stepfather cried, too.
When he begged me not to tell my mother when I was 12.
When he confessed to having an alcohol problem when I was 16.
I'm sure Brett Kavanaugh feels sad and upset.
We all do. Especially survivors of sexual assault.— Kaz Weida (@kazweida) September 27, 2018
The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation on Friday, September 28th at 9:30 a.m. ET. We can only hope the committee takes the accusations against this man extremely seriously and does what is just—for victims everywhere, and for the American people.
