Twitter Reacts to the Shocking Twist in the 'Little Fires Everywhere' Season Finale
This article contains spoilers for the season 1 finale of Little Fires Everywhere.
Hulu's limited series Little Fires Everywhere came to a close on Wednesday, April 22, with its most explosive episode yet. The last few minutes of the finale revealed the exact opposite of what the first few minutes of the pilot episode implied. Izzy (Megan Stott) wasn't the one who burned down the Richardson's house; it was actually her siblings Lexie (Jade Pettyjohn), Trip (Jordan Elsass), and Moody (Gavin Lewis). But before we reached that shocking twist, Little Fires Everywhere had a few loose ends to tie.
Izzy and her mother Elena (Reese Witherspoon) have been at odds all season, but ever since Izzy learned her mother cut her out of the family holiday photos, tensions were higher than ever. Izzy retaliates by throwing out a pair of sneakers Elena bought her. "Isn't that what we do in this house? Discard the things we don't like?" Izzy asks her mom after Elena charges in with the sneakers in hand.
Elsewhere, Pearl (Lexi Underwood) is still upset with Mia (Kerry Washington) for hiding her biological father, but the two resolve their differences, bringing Mia and Pearl's chapter in Shaker Heights to an end. Down the street, Izzy suffers a meltdown and starts pouring gasoline all over her clothes, intending to burn everything that reminds her of her mother. But just as Mia and Pearl reunite, the Richardson family is ripped apart by the harsh confession Elena screams at Izzy: "I never wanted you in the first place!" Hurt by her mother's words, Izzy packs her bags and runs away, as the rest of the Richardson siblings made a pact to burn each of their rooms, creating LITTLE. FIRES. EVERYWHERE.
My mind? Blown. My heart? Shattered. Thankfully, I'm not alone. The plot twist sent Twitter into a tizzy as fans wondered what's next. Where did Izzy go? Will Trip, Lexie, and Moody go down for arson? What's next for Mia and Pearl? Until a second season is announced, here are the best Twitter reactions to the epic Little Fires Everywhere finale.

#LittleFiresEverywhere was perfect from beginning to end. So much emotional drama, digging into what white privilege and race means in suburbia, where everything looks so pretty and shiny and perfect. What happens when those illusions are shattered. Just perfection. Well done. pic.twitter.com/wFyHTaXSix
