Twitter Raises Eyebrows at Kate Winslet's Hairstyle on New 'Titanic' Poster
The beloved movie is re-releasing in theaters this year in honor of the 25th anniversary.
While fans are definitely getting excited for the theatrical re-release of Titanic, many can't stop wondering what is going on with Kate Winslet's hair in a new poster promoting the movie's 25th anniversary.
Twitter users have been left perplexed over the latest theatrical poster for the movie's anniversary milestone which debuted on Tuesday, with the lead actress looking like she has two completely different hairstyles going on.
In the remastered poster from the original 1997 film, Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack) is seen embracing Winslet (Rose) as her head is turned to the side, displaying the profile of her face. But what's confusing is the actress' hair, which appears to be curled and pulled into an updo on the side facing the camera, while on the other side, her tresses are let down and appear in much looser waves.
"really stressing me out how kate winslet has two different hair styles here," one confused user wrote on Twitter.
"What's going on with Kate Winslet's hair?" another person wondered, calling the hairdo "a reversed mullet."
Some users online seemed to think that the bizarre look of Winslet's hair was simply just a poor photoshop job, but others were convinced that the poster might have been designed that way to symbolize the duality of Rose's character throughout the film.
"It's supposed to represent how she changes from when she gets on the Titanic before meeting Jack. A classy updo with tight curls on one side. After she meets him, she lets go. Literally 'lets her hair down,'" one person theorized on Twitter, while many seemed to be in agreement.
The film will make its return to movie theaters on Feb. 10. Until then, check out some of the funniest tweets we found about Kate Winslet's #HairGate below:
