This Tropical Plant Features A Tiny Pink Pineapple And You Can Order One From Home Depot
If you were one of the people who was so excited to see these plants featuring a tiny pineapple, then you’re going to be even more excited about the newest release. Pure Beauty Farms, which created those pineapple plants, has a new variety featuring the Brazilian Red Pineapple, and it’s bringing us even stronger tropical vibes.
The Brazilian Red Pineapple, which has the scientific name Ananas bracteatus and is also known as the red pineapple, is native to South America. They are available in the summer and fall months, contain little juice, and taste sweet and mild. While the variety has a white or pinkish-yellow flesh, the outside exudes red and pink colors with the classic green pineapple crown.
The Brazilian Red Pineapple plant is a new offering at Home Depot, a Pure Beauty Farms representative confirmed to Best Products. You can get it in a grower pot ($23.98) or a designer pot ($29.98), and they’re available for shipping.
Although it’s ideal to grow the plant outdoors, you can make it happen indoors if you have a super sunny spot. It needs at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, and the more sun, the more the red tips of the leaves will stand out.
These pretty plant is different from the Rosé Pineapple that received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) seal of approval a few years ago. Those genetically modified pink fruits had been in development since 2005 and have their own patent. How have we survived so long without these colorful pineapples?!
