Tristan Thompson's Mom Dies Unexpectedly, According to New Reports
The NBA star is mourning the sudden loss of his mother, Andrea.
Tristan Thompson's mother, Andrea Thompson, died suddenly yesterday, Thursday, Jan. 5, according to new reports.
TMZ was the first to report the news earlier today, stating that a source close to the 31-year-old NBA player said his mother had suffered a heart attack at her home in Toronto. She was rushed to the hospital, where, unfortunately, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that Thompson's ex, Khloe Kardashian, has been supporting him through this difficult time, stating, "Khloe and Tristan traveled to Toronto because Tristan's mother passed away." The source also revealed that Khloe's mom, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kim Kardashian, are expected to be in attendance at Andrea's funeral.
"Khloe was very close to Tristan's mother, and as with any partner, friend, etcetera, the family will be first to support them, especially in this very difficult time," another source told the outlet.
Thompson and Khloe share a daughter, True, 4, and a 5-month-old son, whose name has yet to be revealed. The NBA player is also dad to 12-month-old son Theo, whom he shares with Maralee Nichols, and 6-year-old son Prince with his ex, Jordan Craig.
Thompson opened up in a 2016 interview with the NBA, where he spoke about how close he is with his mother. ”Even though I don’t live at home and I’m four hours away from home, I talk to my mom every day – ask how the kids are doing, ask how she’s doing, too,” Thompson said. “Everyone knows that my mom, she’s very dedicated in taking care of her sons – especially Amari. But at the same time, you need to make sure that she’s ok."
Thompson has three siblings including Amari Thompson, his youngest sibling who suffers from epilepsy, Dishawn Thompson, and Daniel Thompson.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Thompson family!
