If you’re a fan of fluffy blowouts, you’ve definitely heard of Djerf Avenue founder Matilda Djerf and her iconic ’70s-inspired layered hair. Although her brand first became famous for its TikTok-viral clothes, it recently released two new hair products. And after a week testing both of them, my Djerf Avenue Beauty review is in.

Djerf Avenue Beauty currently sells two hair products: the Breezy Styling Mist and the On The Go Styling Gel. Both are inspired by Matilda’s signature hairstyles, like her voluminous blowouts and her slicked-back buns. My hair looks nothing like Matilda’s—and I’m no blowout expert—so I was curious to see if Djerf Avenue Beauty’s hair products would help me channel her signature clean girl vibe. I also rarely use heat on my hair (except to style my bangs, of course), so I wanted to see how the products could fit into my simple hair routine.
In honor of Matilda, the blowout queen, I attempted my own at-home faux blowout by curling the ends of my hair with a straightener. I sprayed the Breezy Styling Mist on my hair before using the straightener and was in awe of how luxurious it smelled. The styling mist has base notes of amber, leather, cedarwood, and sandalwood—which left my hair smelling sophisticated all night long. (We need a shampoo and conditioner with this same scent, please!)
I don’t own a Dyson Airwrap or any similar tool, so I wasn’t able to use the spray on damp hair—and as a result, it left me feeling a little sticky. My hairstyle held up for the same amount of time it does with hairspray. And while I’m not sure if the spray made my hairstyle last any longer, it definitely did leave me feeling like I just came back from the salon.
Djerf Avenue Beauty Breezy Styling Mist
If you’re a blowout expert, Djerf Avenue Beauty’s Breezy Styling Mist is a good way to get salon-quality hair at home. I’m still learning how to get Matilda’s curls, so the spray wasn’t a perfect fit for my hair routine. But I think the spray would work nicely for someone with layers and a well-established hair routine. (Plus, it smells amazing!)
I had better luck with Djerf Avenue Beauty’s On The Go Styling Gel. I may not be great at styling my hair with heat, but I love pulling my hair out of my face with pigtails or braids. And the On The Go Styling Gel was a perfect fit for my hair routine.
I put my hair up and then applied a tiny amount of gel to the top of my dry hair. You can add more gel for a stronger hold, but I liked using a small amount—it held my baby hairs in place without feeling heavy. The gel also made my damaged hair, look shiny and healthy. Not to mention, it comes in the same luxe scent as the Breezy Styling Mist. (It’s also available unscented if you’re not a fan of scents.)
Djerf Avenue Beauty On The Go Styling Gel
My personal favorite of Djerf Avenue Beauty’s two hair products, the On The Go Styling Gel, is perfect for keeping your baby hairs at bay. It didn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy. Instead, it made my hair look shiny and healthy—and it smelled like a dream. Even if you already have a go-to hair gel, this one is worth the try.
My verdict? Djerf Avenue Beauty’s new hair products are ideal for the blowout expert. But if you have a simple hair-styling routine, like me, the On The Go Styling Gel is a better bet than the Breezy Styling Mist. Both products smell ridiculously good—they’re like perfume for your hair. That alone makes them worth the buy. And since the products are so affordable, they’re worth trying if you’re curious.
