Trevor Noah Responds to Kanye West Being Pulled From Grammys Performance Lineup
Trevor Noah has responded to Kanye West being barred from performing at the 2022 Grammys (which he is hosting), tweeting, “I said counsel Kanye, not cancel Kanye.”
News that Kanye’s performance had been canceled was reported by The Blast on Friday night, which said the decision was made due to Ye’s “concerning online behavior.” Kanye’s rep then confirmed the news to Variety, and it went down like this:
“A rep for West sent Variety a link to [the Blast] story, saying only, ‘This is confirmed’; the rep did not respond to requests for further information, although the Blast report states, ‘Our sources say Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision.’”
The canceled show follows Kanye’s ban from Instagram, which happened after he posted a racial slur about Trevor, seemingly in response to Trevor speaking about Kanye’s posts about Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson on The Daily Show:

A spokesperson for Meta (formerly known as Facebook) confirmed the Instagram suspension to E! News, saying Kanye’s account was banned for 24 hours due to violating policies on hate speech, bullying, and harassment.
Meanwhile, a source tells People that “Kim found the suspension to be fair, but her reaction wasn’t very dramatic. She didn’t make a big deal out of it and joked that she needed a break for a day. All of Kanye’s posts have been exhausting for her though. It’s very impressive how calm and collected she is able to stay. She is very happy with Pete. Her kids are doing great. She is trying her best to stay positive and focus on all the amazing things in her life.”
Kanye is nominated for five Grammy Awards.
