Travis Scott Will Be Performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show This Year
The Super Bowl is only a couple of weeks away, and obviously, this year's halftime show has been more controversial than most—Rihanna reportedly turned down the performance to support Colin Kaepernick, and Amy Schumer is also boycotting by refusing to do any commercials.
Today it was officially confirmed that Maroon 5 will be headlining the show (though we all already knew that), and People also reports that both Travis Scott and Big Boi will be performing.
But likely because of the Colin Kaepernick controversy, Travis had some conditions that the NFL had to meet before he agreed to play. Travis asked that the sports giant join him in making a charitable donation to a good cause, and together they are donating $500,000 to the non-profit Dream Corps.
Travis said in a statement, “I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in...I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change."
So that's your Super Bowl Halftime Show, folks. Are you looking forward to it?
