Tomi Lahren congratulates first female chief of U.S. Border Patrol on Twitter and asks, 'Where is the feminist applause?'
Tomi Lahren has been open about her opposition to feminism. But in light of recent news having to do with our nation’s Border Patrol, the conservative Fox News correspondent is making a miscalculated plea for feminist approval.
Taking to her Twitter account to congratulate Carla Provost for being the first woman to be named chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, Lahren was on her way to inciting a debate. It wasn’t until a follow-up tweet, however, that she received the type of heated responses she seemed to have been looking for.
First female is named as chief of border patrol! Where is the feminist applause??

“First female is named as chief of border patrol! Where is the feminist applause??” Lahren wrote to her over 1 million followers, before receiving thousands of reactions — including many from people who believe this doesn’t warrant applause.
As long as border patrol is separating families and not listening to asylum requests we will hold our applause

We will get there once we take care of normalizing breast feeding for children. We will get there when are own president starts to treat woman with respect. So we will get back to you on that. Thank you

That’s not how feminism works, Tomi.

Others pointed out that in Lahren’s poor attempt to get approval for Provost’s appointment, she forget to even mention Provost’s name.
Does said female have a name??
— Georgette (@GeorgetteRain) August 9, 2018
Her name is Carla Provost. It would be nice if you recognized HER and not her sex.

First female? Is it Eve? 🤔

While Lahren’s tweet definitely stirred up some animosity, at least it unified enough of her followers, who are now schooling her on feminism.
Once again, feminism doesn’t mean applauding or liking every woman in the world.
