Tom Holland Weighs in on Zendaya Breakup Rumor
Zendaya and Tom Holland attend the World Premiere of Columbia Pictures 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' at the Regency Village and Bruin Theaters.
After playing romantic interests Peter Parker and Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Tom Holland and Zendaya fielded dating rumors for years. It wasn't until 2021 when they publicly confirmed their romance. Now, the rumor mill needs to know: Have Holland and Zendaya broken up?
On Friday, Jan. 12, TMZ caught up with Holland while he was out in Los Angeles, where he set the record straight about his and Zendaya's relationship status.
"No, absolutely not," he told a TMZ reporter when asked if the breakup rumors were true.
Reports of a breakup came in the wake of Zendaya unfollowing everyone on Instagram, including her boyfriend. On top of that, the couple hasn't been spotted together in public in months. (Although, they did sign Spider-Man: No Way Home posters for charity in November 2023.)

In general, however, Zendaya and Holland's social media activity involving each other has been few and far between. Eagle-eyed fans noticed in September 2023 that Zendaya appeared in the last photo of a carousel of pictures featuring puppies that Holland posted.

Before that—aside from some Spider-Man: No Way Home promotional posts in December 2021—Holland's most recent Instagram update involving Zendaya came in November of that same year.
"Naaa stop it ??. An incredible achievement for the most incredible person," he wrote alongside a photo of Zendaya at the CFDA Fashion Awards, where she won the Fashion Icon Award. "Congrats @zendaya and @luxurylaw you guys deserve every bit of this."

In September 2021, Holland penned a tribute for his girlfriend on her special day. "My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays," he wrote on Instagram. "Gimme a call when your up xxx."
Zendaya followed that up with a similar message for Holland in June 2022, writing, "Happiest of birthdays to the one who makes me the happiest."
Although Holland and Zendaya fans would be thrilled to see new couple updates on social media, for now, they're breathing a collective sigh of relief that the breakup rumors aren't true.
