“Wasn’t Charmaine pregnant for 4 years?” That’s the first comment on a hilariously accurate TikTok about just how bizarre, dramatic, and downright unrealistic the Netflix’s guilty pleasure “Virgin River” storyline is. Yet, we just can’t stop watching. All. Six. Seasons. Worth.
TikTokker sterling_km has made a realistic reenactment of Virgin River’s quick moving and overly shocking plot points, from shootings to pregnancies to kidnappings (spoiler alert). “Every episode of Virgin River” the caption reads, as she runs through the woods and then exclaims, “Jack you’ve been shot? And your house burned down this morning? This day couldn’t get any worse!”
Then, a bag is thrown over her head, launching her into a drug-related kidnapping subplot, where she also takes a pregnancy test and gets into a car accident. “God, I don’t know why? But I really love this town,” she says. One even blames the characters’ poor communication for the ongoing major plot points and disasters.
“This is literally one episode,” one person comments. Another calls the storylines “chaotic and tangential” but adds, “Yet here I sit. Watching every episode. Every season.”
Others draw connections between these plotlines and also Heart of Dixie’s similar vibes, pledging to keep watching both. Maybe, we just don’t care that the good-looking main characters and beautiful landscapes aren’t real life, and we’re just glad the show moves fast enough for us to be glad we made time in our busy
