TikTok Is Obsessed With This “Skinny House” That Just Sold for $260,000
From chic house renovations to helpful home hacks, TikTok is filled with popular home improvement content. Now, a home in Deerfield, Illinois, is going viral on the video-sharing app simply because of its extremely narrow width.
Recently, TikTok user @Eli.Korn_ posted a video of the super-slim home, dubbing it “SKINNY HOUSE” multiple times in the caption and in the video. For a brief moment at the beginning of the video, viewers see only the front of the home, which looks fairly flat. But then the video shows the side of the house, revealing how unusually skinny the home’s width is. Wondering just how narrow the home is? The 1,122-square-foot house is a mere 3 feet wide on one end and gradually widens to about 20 feet, the New York Post reports.
Uploaded just last week, the video already has 1.2 million views as well as 5,000 comments. Needless to say, people have some thoughts about the skinny house. “That’s not a house, that’s a hallway,” one user commented. “You just need a windy day ??,” another person commented, while someone else wrote: “You gotta sleep standing up ??.”
Many people wondered what the inside of the house looks like, so @Eli.Korn_ posted another video showing photos featured in the house’s listing. The home, which recently sold for $260,000, has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a finished basement. It also feature an open living, kitchen, and dining area with hardwood flooring. Located on the wider end of the house, the bedrooms are actually fairly spacious. “IT LOOKS??? NORMAL? WHAT,” the top comment reads. Wondering what occupies the narrow end? All three bathrooms and a storage area.
