West Place Animal Sanctuary Spring Visitors Weekend
Want to meet some cute farm animals and help a good cause?
West Place Animal Sanctuary, 3198 Main Road, Tiverton, is opening its gates and welcoming the community for its Spring Visitors Weekend on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2.
You can meet nearly 100 rescued farm animals, and help West Place celebrate the senior rescues who are allowed to grow old at the sanctuary.
Interactive and educational tours will be held every half hour, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tours are 90 minutes.
Learn about West Place’s life-saving work and mission. They’re a private non-profit organization that hosts three public visitors weekends each year.
West Place will also be holding a spring plant sale, and visitors can check out the renovated and expanded gift shop, with hand-made crafts, items made from upcycled farm materials, and three flavors of “farmbucha” — kombucha brewed on site by West Place Farmbrew.
Registration is open to everyone, and is recommended.
Adult tickets can be purchased online for $24. Adult tickets sold at the gate will be $26. Tickets for children 12 and under are $15.

The Tarbox Ramblers at Narrows Center for the Arts
On Saturday, June 1, from 8 to 10 p.m., see The Tarbox Ramblers at the Narrows Center for the Arts, 16 Anawan St., Fall River.
Enjoy unexpected combinations of rock, backwater blues, and Appalachian music.
Doors open at 7, and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $30 in advance, and $33 on the day of the show.

Tapestry and weaving workshop at Greater Fall River Art Association
The Greater Fall River Art Association, 80 Belmont St., Fall River, is hosting a tapestry and weaving workshop on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This event will be led by Lisa Almeida, and there will be a lunch break at 1 p.m. Participants must bring their own lunches.
Materials provided; looms to keep.
The cost is $135 for members, and $150 for non-members.

Coming soon: Z Schooltime series on the road
The Zeiterion Performing Art Center is taking its Schooltime series on the road, with presentations at New Bedford High School and UMass Dartmouth. This is a chance for students to experience the power of the performing arts. The next performance will be on Tuesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., in the main auditorium at UMass Dartmouth, 285 Old Westport Road, N. Dartmouth. “Charlotte’s Web” is for grades K to 5.
