These days, there are more ways than ever to work out at home, from exercise streaming services to affordable workout equipment. However, if you want to put together a complete home gym, all you need is Tempo Move.
Perhaps you’ve heard of the Tempo Studio. It’s a freestanding 42-inch HD screen that uses the brand’s 3D Tempo Vision (aka motion sensors) to learn about your body and deliver personalized workouts. Pretty neat, huh? The Starter Package comes with the screen, a workout mat, dumbbells, smart weight plates and weight collars. However, it’s a little pricey — it costs $2,495 for the Tempo Studio Starter Package, plus $39 per month for a virtual class membership.

Now, for some people, it’s worth the price. You can even increase the amount of weights and accessories it comes with for a little more cash. However, others who want a more affordable, compact option can go with the Tempo Move.
Tempo Move is the brand’s less expensive model that uses your current TV to deliver its classes and an app on your iPhone to offer real-time feedback. It also comes with Tempo’s mat, dumbbells, smart weight plates, weight collars and a cabinet for storing it all. Overall, it takes up a smaller footprint in your home, so you can work out in your living room, then store your equipment out of sight when you’re done.

Now, Tempo Move may be smaller, but it will help you out just as much as the Tempo Studio. However, without the brand’s smart screen, you need to have an iPhone XR or newer to download its app. Once you set the app up on your iPhone, Tempo will guide you through workouts and offer feedback on things like form, rep targets and when to advance. The smart weights make it easier for Tempo to track your reps and provide further guidance. It’s basically like having your own virtual personal trainer.
Additionally, you’ll need to sign up for the Tempo membership to get access to the 1,000+ live and on-demand classes. Choose between cardio-boxing, HIIT, low-impact, yoga and more workouts taught by professional trainers like Clarence Hairston, an Air Force veteran, and Melissa Boyd, the brand’s Head of Fitness. The classes cost $39 per month, but you get up to six profiles to share with your family (or roommates).
Right now, you can get the Tempo Move with a black or white cabinet for $100 off. So, that makes it less than $400. Plus, it comes with a 60-day risk-free trial. If you don’t like it after two months, you can send it back. Nonetheless, reviewers on Tempo’s website love Tempo Move and give it a collective 5 out of 5 stars.
“If you are not a gym person, but struggle structuring workouts and finding motivation at home, this is for you,” wrote one customer. “Personally, the Move has eliminated the dread of working out. The convenience of the system is hard to top.”
