Taylor Swift Reveals How She's Spending Her Birthday: 'Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way'
The superstar turned 33 on Dec. 13.
Taylor Swift doesn't seem to know the meaning of rest.
The superstar is celebrating her 33rd birthday today, Dec. 13, in the best way, and she's got her fans all atwitter over it. Instead of a lavish party or tropical getaway, the Midnights crooner has spent the day hard at work, once again teasing more new music to come on Instagram.
"Thanks for all the beautiful wishes today!!" she began the caption on the post shared earlier this evening. "I spent my 33rd birthday in the studio of course 😏," she wrote, confirming she "wouldn’t have it any other way" before signing off, "Love you!"
The photo featured Swift sitting on the floor of the studio, her leg stretched out underneath a cello that was laid across the ground. She held up three fingers on each hand to mark the occasion.
Frequent collaborator and Bleachers member Jack Antonoff sat in a chair next to her, strumming on a guitar as he made direct eye contact with the camera.
The news comes just after the copyright lawsuit over lyrics in "Shake it Off" was dropped, leading some to hypothesize that she may be hard at work on 1989 (Taylor's Version).
Swift typically keeps her Instagram comments off, but birthday wishes still poured in from her friends and fans in other ways.
Katie Couric shared a throwback video from an interview with the singer, writing, "Happy birthday to the one and only @taylorswift. I don’t know how I’ll ever top the Meredith swag bag, but I hope you’re ringing in 33 just like you did 22 🤪 #swifties #happybirthdaytaylor"
George Takei also sent well wishes on Twitter, writing, "Wishing a very happy birthday to the multi-talented @taylorswift13," going on to ask his followers what their favorite song was.
Many members of Swift's band sent their love as well, including singers Kamilah Marshall, Jeslyn Gorman and Eliotte Nicole and bassist Amos Heller.
