Taco Bell’s Baja Blast gelato is officially here
Taco Bell is turning tongues turquoise around the country.
On Sept. 3, Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato made its nationwide debut exclusively for Taco Bell rewards members. The hotly anticipated gelato is infused with the Mtn Dew Baja Blast tropical lime flavor and was described by one fan on social media as the solution to “every single problem I have.”
Taco Bell first tested the gelato in August 2023 at one restaurant for a two-week trial run. That Irvine, California Campus Drive location saw folks from far and wide try to get their hands on the icy treat, and the dessert quickly sold out.
The gelato was developed by PepsiCo Foodservice in partnership with Taco Bell, and the highly anticipated treat is making its nationwide debut for a limited time, exclusive to Taco Bell rewards members in the chain’s app.
All summer long, Taco Bell has been celebrating the 20th birthday of its Mtn Dew Baja Blast soda, which first delighted tongues in 2004. The purveyors of the tropical drink are commemorating the milestone by offering folks “more BAJA BLAST, more often, and in entirely new ways,” according to a press release.
Other Baja Blast-related deals have come and gone, such as a free Bajaversary beverage deal in July, as well as the brand’s collaboration with Stanley, which left a few folks on social media who ran into issues with the very limited drop with a sour taste in their mouths.
But Taco Bell says that this isn’t the only Baja Blast dessert to come: Fans can expect the Mtn Dew Baja Blast Pie to hit stores later this year.
Plus, there’s still one tasty deal yet to expire: The chain’s $1 Happier Hour runs every day from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and offers fans a $1 medium-sized Baja Blast fountain drink or regular-sized Baja Blast Freeze. And remember that there are free in-store refills available year-round when dining in at Taco Bell.
