These Swimsuits Are Meant to Be Worn as Regular Clothes, Too
Swampy, sticky, and sweltering are all words that can be used to describe New York City in the summertime. Any Manhattanite will attest to the fact that it takes about .5 seconds to begin sweating once outside in the stale, humid weather, and the fact that walking is a common mode of transportation in the city certainly doesn’t help the situation.
To cope with the muggy air, everyone has their own method of dressing: some wear lightweight linen fabrics, others wear flowing caftans, and more still opt for moisture-wicking workout attire as often as possible. Recently, I developed a new summer wardrobe hack for minimizing the number of shirts that inevitably end up coated in sweat stains after even the quickest outing in my neighborhood. I’ve been trading in my go-to t-shirts for swimsuits, and I’ll never go back.
No, I’m not talking about walking around the streets in a string bikini top—though there are days when that feels like a valid option. Instead, I’ve found a few stylish tankini tops and one-piece swimsuits that pass for tight bodysuits and form-fitting crop tops. Only instead of your typical bodysuit or crop top, these wick away moisture like it’s their job (because it is!) and keep me cool and dry no matter how much of a sweat I work up.
