Swig brings its 'dirty sodas' to Tennessee for the first time. Here's where it is open
Appearing like an oasis in the desert, the refreshment franchise Swig has opened its first location in Tennessee.
Swig, which opened in Alcoa on June 21, is a soda fountain drive-through chain known for its "dirty sodas." "Dirty sodas" are traditional sodas blended like nonalcoholic cocktails with fruits, creams or flavorings. Swig has menu items like its most popular drinks Hula Girl and the Texas Tab, or custom-made creations.
Swig also serves snacks such as salted pretzel bites, which come with white cheddar cheese or strawberry cream cheese frosting, as well as popsicles and cookies.
The grand opening weekend in Alcoa set record business for the Swig franchise, serving 6,890 drinks to 2,907 cars, Swig's franchise owner Taylor Hayden told Knox News. He said choosing Tennessee for its newest location was an easy decision when considering the statistics: Tennessee ranked top three in the nation for soda consumption.
"We've been overwhelmed by the community and seeing the people come together to support us," Hayden said.
Tennessee can look forward to 20 more locations being developed in the near future, 10 of which will be coming to the Knoxville area.
Typically, Swig is a drive through based venue, however once the location's staff is fully trained the lobby will be open.
For now, that first Swig location is at 1110 Franck St., #101, Alcoa.
