Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow Movie Gets "Amazing Writer"
Supergirl DC Comics
James Gunn’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow looks to be in safe hands, with Ana Nogueira taking on the screenplay for the DC Studios movie.
Nogueira had previously been associated with a Supergirl spin-off connected to The Flash movie, but that was trashed once Gunn took full control of the DC Universe. Nogueira is perhaps best known as an actor from The Vampire Diaries and Hightown.
“A hearty public welcome to Ana Nogueira to the DC Studios family,” said Gunn over on Instagram. “Ana is an amazing writer whose screenplay adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow is above and beyond anything I hoped it would be. We’re excited to be moving forward on this unique take on Supergirl in this beautiful, star-spanning tale.”
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow the movie is based on Tom King’s eight-issue story, which focuses on Kara Zor-El breaking away from Superman’s shadow and embarking on a tale of revenge across the galaxy. It also featured Krypto the Superdog, so here’s hoping the pooch makes it to the screen.
James Gunn’s vision of the rebooted DC Universe is starting to become more clearer. As well as the Supergirl project, we know the animated Creature Commandos will kick off the first phase of what is being called Gods and Monsters, followed by Superman: Legacy.
Superman: Legacy will be the first live-action movie in Gunn’s DC Universe, with the film set to begin production early next year, and launch in June 2025.
