These Super Bowl Performances Will Always Be Remembered, and Not for the Reason These Singers Want
As we head into Super Bowl LIV weekend, people are buzzing about more than just the face-off between the National Football Conference champions, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Kansas City Chiefs (American Football Conference champions). We have plenty to look forward to beyond the game as well: the commercials, the food, and, of course, the music. But it's not just the big halftime show (ICYMI, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are performing this year) that has people talking — in fact, the Super Bowl national anthem performance is just as highly anticipated as its flashy mid-game counterpart.
Over the years, a handful of performances of The Star-Spangled Banner have caused some serious chatter. Before she takes the stage, let's have a look back at the most controversial Super Bowl national anthems in recent history.
Christina Aguilera's 2011 performance still makes us cringe.
