Stormy Daniels Made a Surprise Appearance on 'SNL'
Last night, Saturday Night Live called on an impressive roster of celebrity guest stars for a cold open that took aim at the changing stories surrounding the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016.
Ben Stiller leads the sketch as Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's personal lawyer, who haplessly calls Trump from pay phones and burner phones that he mistakenly thinks are untraceable (throughout the sketch, we cut to reaction shots from two FBI agents listening in on the madness that ensues).
"Mr. Trump I don't know what to do you keep changing your story on the Stormy Daniels payment," Stiller's Cohen says. In response, Alec Baldwin as Trump suggests that they call Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani, played by Kate McKinnon, is described as "Trump's lawyer and his worst nightmare," as he takes the call on live television on the set of a Fox News show.
Cohen goes on to take calls from Vice President Mike Pence (Beck Bennett), former White House aide Omarosa Manigault (Leslie Jones), and Melania Trump (Cecily Strong) before a call from Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner that sees Scarlett Johansson and Jimmy Fallon reprise their impressions.
Finally, Trump demands that Cohen get Stormy Daniels herself on the line and, when he does, she's played by Daniels herself.
"Everyone knows it's just an act," Trump says to Daniels in the sketch.
"I work in adult films. We're not really known for our acting," Daniels replies.
When Trump asks what it would take to make the whole scandal go away, Daniels cooly replies, "A resignation."
"Yeah, right," Trump says. "Being president is like doing porn. Once you do it, it's hard to do anything else."
At the end of their exchange, Daniels says, "Sorry, Donald. It's too late for that. I know you don't believe in climate change, but a storm's a-coming, baby."
