Statement-making sleeves are slaying at the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet
In September, at the 2019 Emmy’s, we saw a number of celebs accentuate their red carpet gowns with big, bold, billowing sleeves that made us think of ’80s prom dresses, but in the best possible way. And if the first award show of 2020 is any indication, it looks like the big-sleeve trend is continuing into the new decade. From Zoey Deutch to Janina Gavankar, voluminous statement-making sleeves slayed this year’s Golden Globes red carpet, complementing each of the beautiful, colorful gowns as they made their way down one of entertainment’s biggest runways.
The puff-sleeve dress trend has even been making its way to some our favorite retailers, so you can emulate your favorite fashion-forward stars to get the look at home.
Here are our favorite celebrity puff-sleeve dresses from the 2020 Golden Globes:
1Bel Powley
Bel Powley of The Morning Show donned a powder-blue gown with a plunging neckline and puffed-up sleeves.
2Olivia Coleman
Coleman shed her royal fa?ade as Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s The Crown for a bright-red gown complete with elegant ruched sleeves accented with Chopard jewelry.
3Joey King
Joey King looked like a bona fide work of art in this abstract black-and-white gown with billowing, off-the-shoulder sleeves.
4Zoey Deutch
Zoey’s long, voluminous sleeves add tons of drama to this sunny number.
5Dakota Fanning
Dakota Fanning’s sweet tulle lilac dress is princess-worthy.
6Janina Gavankar
Hello, color blocking! We’re obsessing over these cobalt blue sleeves on Janina Gavankar’s Georges Chakra Couture dress, especially in contrast to her low back and side-slit cutout.
7Julia Butters
Ten-year-old Julia Butters looked ethereal in her nude gown complete with airy tulle sleeves.
8Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow’s barely-there sheer sleeves are a beautiful compliment to her nearly-nude dress.
9Kaitlin Dever
Kaitlin Dever wore a patterned Valentino dress with a high neckline and Cinderella sleeves.
10Isla Fisher
Isla Fisher’s hot magenta dress with off-the-shoulder puff-sleeves is a show stopper.

Beyoncé may have shown up fashionably late to the Golden Globes red carpet, but she sure did it looking like a Queen. We’re loving this sleek black gown embellished with huge golden sleeves.
