Starbucks Is Giving Away $1 Million in Gift Cards, Here's How to Get One
Starting today, Starbucks will be doing its best Santa impression by giving out a cool million dollars worth of the gift of, you guessed it, Starbucks. The initiative, called Project Give Good, will feature several different avenues of giving that you can get in on.
The most straightforward way is to simply make a purchase at Starbucks using the mobile app or a registered Starbucks Card during the month of December, which will automatically give you Gold status in Starbucks Rewards for the next year, opening up an extra level of special offers and deals for 2018.
But then again, you may not even need to be at Starbucks to receive to receive your gift. As another component of Project Give Good, Starbucks baristas around the country will be forming "Give Good" squads, traveling around in thematically-appropriate red and green aprons to give out a million dollars worth of $20 Starbucks Cards at community celebrations like tree lighting ceremonies, caroling, and events featuring local pillars like volunteers, veterans, and teachers.
Locations for the card giveaways will vary, so follow along on Starbucks' site, or with the hashtag #GiveGood, to see the project in action. And if you have ideas of your own on what local events would be perfect to Give Good at in your community, Starbucks says you can visit your local store from December 4 through 8 to share.
And that's not all—there's one more element of Project Give Good that, while not guaranteed, could give a lucky few an even bigger Starbucks gift: the return of the Starbucks for Life sweepstakes, which, beginning December 5, offers the chance to win free Starbucks for periods of time including a week, a month, a year, and your whole entire life, along with redeemable stars. All you need to do to enter is to make a purchase during December with a registered Starbucks Card, either physically or through the app, and, considering that one in six American adults received them during the last holiday season alone, it's likely you'll have one ready to go.
