Squid Game's Creator Teases Season 3 Could Also Be in the Works at Netflix
Squid Game fans will be delighted to hear that season 3 could soon be commissioned by Netflix.
The dystopian hit already has a second season in development, but creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has now hinted that conversations with the streaming giant suggest there's plenty more juice to squeeze out of this orange.
"I'm in talks with Netflix over season 2 as well as season 3," Hwang revealed to Korean broadcaster KBS in a recent interview (via Korea Times). "We will come to a conclusion any time soon."

Season 2 of Squid Game is said to focus on winner Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who walked away with almost $40 million in prize money after the events of season one before the series' final moments saw him seemingly plotting vengeance against the game's creators.
"I will promise you this… Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world," creator Hwang Dong-hyuk teased when news of the second season was confirmed back in November.
The creator has also previously teased some Star Wars-level conflicts in the show's planned second season as he compared Gi-hun to the Front Man, a previous winner of the Squid Games played by Lee Byung-hun.
"In the first season that we saw Gi-hun is a character whose humanity is shown through or exposed in certain situations," he shared.
"In other words, his humanity is shown through a very passive manner. But I would think that in the second season, what he has learned from the games and his experience in the first season, they will all be put to use in a more active manner.
"And at the same time, as for the Front Man [Lee Byung-hun] who was also a past winner but became a Front Man, it's like Darth Vader. Some end up Jedi and some become Darth Vader, right? I think that maybe Gi-hun will go through a certain critical point where he is put through a test as well."
Meanwhile, the mastermind behind the show was also recently forced to address a celebrity detractor in NBA star LeBron James, who voiced his disappointment with the ending.
"Have you seen Space Jam 2? LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I'm very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn't change my ending. That's my ending," Hwang said.
"If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I'll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, 'I liked your whole show, except the ending.'"
