Spring cleanup collections scheduled around Guernsey County this weekend
GUERNSEY COUNTY — Jackson Township and the village of Byesville cleanup days will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The collection will be at the township maintenance yard at 10147 Catalpa St. in Byesville. Tires, building materials, or hazardous materials will not be accepted.
The City of Cambridge and Madison, Jefferson and Cambridge townships will conduct cleanups from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The Cambridge City garage is located on Charles Avenue. Townships will have their own dumpsters at their locations.
Tires may be dropped off at the city garage. Four tires per household may be disposed of at no charge, with each additional tire being $1. Truck tires are $2 and tires with rims are $5.
No refrigerators, air conditioners or other flammables will be accepted. No building materials, shingles, or household garbage. All other appliances, computers, TVs, furniture and mattresses are permitted.
If a resident is handicapped or a senior citizen in the city limits, they may contact Kim Conrath at 740-439-2822 to possibly arrange for community service to pick them up.
Cleanup in Center Township will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on today and Saturday. Dumpsters will be available at the township garage located on Arrowhead Road.
No tires or hazardous materials can be accepted. Help will be available to unload if necessary. For more information, call the township trustees at 740-421-0772 or 740-680-2205.
