SPOILER: "Bachelor" Arie's Final Rose Goes To...
Chris Harrison opened tonight's truly excessive THREE HOUR Bachelor finale by noting that it's going to be hella "controversial," because he's such a tease like that! And, come on now, ABC is bad - worse than Arie, even - for scheduling a three hour-long finale the night after the Oscars.
Saying that it's going to be "one of those nights," Harrison name-dropped Jason Mesnick, who dumped his original pick during his season's "After the Final Rose" and Juan Pablo, who's just a Bachelor punching bag at this point tbh (not that it's not undeserved) as examples of Bachelors going rogue. Brad Womack, meanwhile, who didn't even bother pretending he cared about either of his final 2 ladies his first season, didn't get a shout-out. Huh!? Apparently though, every stunt Arie pulled really was in "the name of true love," which like, OK Chris Harrison can we just get to it now we can't trust you either clearly!
I will leave the full finale debrief in Cosmo recapper Ashley Iaconetti's capable hands, knowing that she won't hold back either - but look, this was just gross and it went beyond the levels of schadenfreude even Bachelor Nation expects from its fave show. Honestly the producers should have just let contestants like Caroline and Bekah M. (who seemed barely able to contain their spoilers and disdain) rag on Arie for the whole broadcast, save 5 mins for Arie to be like "I pick you I love you SO MUCH" and then "lol sorry I changed my mind."
You can't go wrong with these 2! See who Arie chooses tonight on #TheBachelorFinale.

Because that's what happened! Arie proposed to Becca, dated her in secret for a few months post-show except then he also got back in contact with Lauren B. and decided his heart lay there after all. So he broke up with Becca just like that... and Lauren took him back.
Let's repeat that: during the show's taped finale in Peru, Arie gave his final rose to Becca, not Lauren - and be legit cut Lauren down with a head shake. A head shake! (And then he told her that he still loved her regardless, which is messy AF.) And then he proposed to Becca and legit the show foreshadowed the switcheroo with the fact that Becca dropped her final rose one time. Come on now!
In conclusion, Arie and Lauren are doomed, even if they stay together forever. I said what I said!
